On June 14, 2024, PLAN-B held its first General Assembly, bringing together the entire consortium and Advisory Board members. This pivotal meeting offered us an invaluable opportunity to assess the progress of our project, discuss ongoing work, plan future steps, exchange updates, and reconnect with everyone involved in the PLAN-B project.

  • Comprehensive Agenda: The meeting’s agenda focused on the progress of tasks planned for the first project year. Key areas of discussion included:
    • Development of a knowledge database
    • Mapping and modelling light and noise pollution
    • Citizen science activities
    • Regulatory analysis
    • Analysis of social behaviour and communication
  • Project Progress: We are pleased to report that the project is on track, achieving all set targets:
    • Noise Pollution Mapping: Identifying applicable data for modelling and mapping noise pollution across Europe.
    • Light Pollution Mapping: Creation of the first draft of a light pollution map in Europe.
    • Regulatory Databases: Initial developments of databases for light and noise pollution regulatory instruments.
    • Literature Review: Start of the comprehensive review of behaviours and social aspects relevant to light and noise pollution.
    • Citizen Science: Mapping and engaging citizen science activities.
    • Effective Communication: Successfully communicating project work and initial results to stakeholders and the public.
  • Advisory Board Insights: The General Assembly also facilitated valuable discussions with our Advisory Board members. They emphasized the project’s ambitious goals and expressed a keen interest in getting more involved in our work. Their insights and feedback are instrumental in guiding our future efforts.
