Coinciding with World Environment Day, which has been celebrated every 5 June since 1972, the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), through the Andalusian Astrophysics Institute (IAA-CSIC), is promoting a scientific dissemination action focused on light pollution and its effects on the environment and society.

Under the title ‘Counting light pollution from coast to coast’, the initiative will bring together professionals in 19 Spanish cities to simultaneously offer a total of 21 informative talks to raise public awareness of this growing threat.

if you want to know all the information about this activity, you can visit their website.

Activities such as this one highlight the growing concern about light pollution in our ecosystems, as the success of the online workshop that PLAN-B organised last May, which brought together specialists, regulators and representatives of the lighting industry around the European light regulation, has already shown.
