As part of PLAN-B’s clustering activities and with the aim of continuing to build alliances with sister projects, on 29th May we participated in a working day organised by DarkerSky4CE to share experiences around the engagement of participants in our respective projects.
During this online working session we presented the work of Simone Bright – Sunshine Coast Council (Australia), who discussed the citizen participation activities carried out to consolidate the community around her light protection project in natural spaces in Australia; we learned about the work of Tobia Inverizzi – Cielo buio (Italy) on activism for darker skies, and Daniel Lisbona, on behalf of PLAN-B, was able to share the first steps of our engagement strategy to build a community involved in our project activities, focused on the use of citizen science methodologies.
We are grateful for the invitation of the DarkerSky4CE project to share our work, which is essential to continue weaving this network of initiatives that advocate for a better regulation of light and noise pollution in European ecosystems.
